Just looking at the news headlines of the terrible scenes in London after a “terror” attack. I say “terror” in inverted commas because we don’t know yet of the attacker’s background, any motive behind this as in all cases like this, it’s wrong to speculate until the facts are at hand.
One thing I will say though is that we are always vulnerable, every minute, every second and every hour of our lives. Safeguards are put in place to protect us, but unfortunately and sadly, those safeguards are broken by people with scant regard for others. As I said earlier, until the facts are at hand, it’s dangerous to comment on why this happened. London hasn’t been attacked in this way since those dreadful scenes in July 2005, and that is a tribute to the tolerance, patience and vigilance of the British public and security services.
Let us pray for those who have been affected, and remember, we are always vulnerable.
