What am I doing here, you may well ask? Well, on this perfect spring morning, I’m here to watch one of my mates and colleagues umpire the National Indoor cricket finals, a great honour for him, and it’s just great to be here to watch the matches.
I’ve umpired on the smaller ground here at Lord’s a few times, and though it’s not the main ground, it feels as though it’s hallowed ground you’re walking on. The history and tradition of this place is renowned the world over. On a morning like this, it looks simply stunning.
Looking forward to the action starting, and I hope my mate performs to his usual high standard. It’s going to be a good day.
