The appalling weather at least had one benefit today. It made sure that the cafe I help volunteer at made a good trade. So you see, it’s not all bad.
I said to my colleague that we will get a decent trade today as nobody will want to venture outside on this winter…sorry…summer day. And we were right.
It’s always good when it’s busy, as the time passes and there’s no time to stop and stare, as someone famous once said. The food is freshly made and the customers like the affordable prices. Service with a smile and a joke (usually from me, and usually terrible).
The busy nature of the morning shook me out of my lethargy and I was able to cope. It’s not my best day today, but I braved the wind and rain this morning to do something I enjoy. And if I can get up on that type of morning, and push through any twinges of anxiety and/or low mood, then so much the better.
